WebMar 31, 2024 · For 9mm, the Winchester/Hodgdon web site has data for Winchester 231/HP-38 and a 9mm, 115-grain LRN bullet. Their starting load is 4.3 grains laded at a COL of 1.100", and the max is 4.8 grains. I have loaded the Berry's 115-gr 9mm bullets, but I have not compared their physical length to that of a factory, FMJ 115-grain bullet. WebBe safe and work your load up as usual but 4.4 gives me 1114 FPS out of a 4” and 1164 FPS out of a 5” XD. Power Factor is 1087 so you are just above that which is not a hot load and still fine for plated. 4.2 is a good plinking load for the range. OAL is around 1.13”. Good Luck!
WebHere, we have two FMJ bullets from X-Treme and Sierra. We can already see a $13 (115gr) and $17 (124gr) difference between X-Treme’s plated and jacketed bullets. Starting with the 115gr, Berry’s plated bullets (11.70 cents each) cost even a bit higher than X-Treme’s FMJ (11.21 cents each). WebMar 2, 2012 · When you use plated bullets, you have to kind of guess what the manufacturer meant by 'mid-range loads'. There is very little published data for plated bullets. OTOH, the world is swimming in data for FMJ bullets. The Hornady manual has data for a 180 gr FMJ FP like the Percision Delta. EDIT: So does Speer #14 but neither have data for WST powder.

I understand that the .500 S&W requires much sturdier bullets than most other handgun cartridges - bullets with heavier jackets and hard lead alloy cores or G/C bullets cast from extremely hard lead alloys. WebI am extremely pleased with the performance of your bullets. I have only used the 9mm 115g round nose at this point and have yet to purchase 45's. I just ordered another 1000 9mm bullets today. I used to use berry's bullets, but I now have a new favorite company and you will be my primary pistol bullet supplier from now on.

When loading the copper plated bullets be sure to not cut the plating when crimping. Be sure to chamfer and debur the cases and crimp right into the side of the bullet lightly.
