I have some Samsung Smartthings power metering plugs (Zigbee) directly paired to HE, and they report correctly and are fully and reliably controlled by HE. (And not a cheap option BTW.) I have recently included Xiaomi Mi metering plugs (also Zigbee, more affordable) and they also work reliably.
