Web28 May 2014 · The tail lights will not come on anymore. The lights work fine when I apply the brakes, but not when just running Brakes lights work when the brakes are applied. No tail lights though. Turn signals work as well. I checked the fuse box under the hood and in the cabin. All fuses appear to be fine. Also tested the bulbs in the back, they all work.

So when you put them in, IF the short was after them ( which it really is, the ground return ), they should light taking all the energy and NOT the fuse. I would suspect the bulbs or socket itself, causing a direct short to ground when the bulb is in place.
